20th event of Open RBR-LT WRC 2019 was crucial for many drivers. The most important question was if Juan Marzoa will secure his championship title in his home event. And the answer was more than clear when Juan won Rally Spain with huge advantage. Behind Spaniard 25 more crews reached the finish in Catalunya region. This years Rally Spain was harder that many expected, just 7 drivers left clean without penalties and 10 crews didn't reached the finish.
Juan Marzoa had over 4 minutes advantage before last day, so Spaniards main objective was just to finish. So Juan let Mateusz Przyzlakowski dominate in last four stages while he finished 2nd in all of them. In the end Juan won by almost 5 minutes against his championship opponent Libor Tomecek. After finish Juan was too happy to speak much, but we definitely gonna make an interview with him after the season,- "Yes! Finish! Objective accomplished!! Very happy, thanks for an amazing season!!". Czech Republic star Libor Tomecek finished second and lost his chances to fight for championship title but keeping his Toyota in very respectful position. Kirill Kolomiets for the 5th time finishes in overall podium this season and this is the most overall podiums from all WRC 2 competitors. Ukrainian and his Škoda Fabia R5 lost 48.16 seconds for 2nd placed Libor Tomecek.
Kirill Kolomiets was so hardcore that he won the last three stages despite having almost 7 minutes lead after second leg. In the finish Ukrainian won by massive 8 minutes advantage against second placed Paulius Butmanas. This is the 5th podium finish in a row for Lithuanian and his Subaru Impreza WRX STi, also it's first 2nd place for him this season. Honza Matějka from Czech Republic drove his Hyundai i20 R5 to 3rd place with 15 minutes of penalty. Jyrki Niemela managed to improve his situation by raising from 8th position to 6th, but that didn't saved him from loosing his leadership in championship standings. With two more rounds to go, Kirill is a new WRC 2 leader having 6 points more than Jyrki. What a season finale awaits us in this classification.
It's happy to announce that we have one more champion after rally in Spain. Maciej Zawisza had an absolutely amazing rally and won WRC 3 classification, finishing in crazy 5th position in overall standings. This means that Maciej is unreachable by points and has become a WRC 3 champion! Main Maciej's opponent Mariusz Domanus finished just 6th, but even second place finish wouldn't stop Maciej from becoming a champion. Mirek Woronecki finished second with 3mins 16.34secs loss to a champion and many minutes behind in 3rd place a local driver Jacobo Ulibarrena with Opel ADAM R2.
Open RBR-LT WRC 2019 championship almost reached it's finish line and has two new champions! But fight for other, not less respectable place, is not over jet! Championship is heading to the last ERC brake this season and the back to the last main event!
